The 17W is a pancake: 40.5 x 24 x 10 inches carrying 37 gallons. Ten inches of height is what lets a tank live under a bed platform, beneath a raised floor, or flat across trailer crossmembers without stealing the room above it - and 24 inches of width is what lets it still hold real capacity while it hides. This is the shape RV converters reach for when the floor plan was drawn before anyone thought about water.
It is a Water / Waste Holding Tank series molding, which is Ronco's way of saying you decide what it is: fresh-water fittings make it a potable tank in FDA-compliant polyethylene; waste fittings make it a generous gray tank fed by shower and galley. The blank weighs 20 lb. Full, the arithmetic is serious - about 309 lb at 8.34 lb per gallon - so this one mounts to frame rails, not to plywood alone.
See the rest of the low-profile family in the RV water tanks category, or the waste-side equivalents under RV holding tanks. Wide flats like this also serve as marine tanks under cabin soles.
