This is a substantial molded polyethylene lid - 32 pounds - because spanning an opening that wide flat and true requires real material. A thin disc would oil-can, wander off center, and end up leaning against the tank; this one seats and stays.

A wide, open tank of liquid at floor level is an exposure hazard and a contamination magnet in any busy shop; covered, it is just storage.
