It is molded polyethylene, produced by Ronco in Tustin, California alongside the tanks themselves - the same plant, the same resin family, the same tooling discipline the company has applied since 1974. That shared origin is why the fit is right: the lid is molded to this tank's rim, not adapted from something close.
