A 23 gallon water tank at a 32 lb ship weight - the Ronco Plastics B142 is the kind of component one person carries aboard, drops into the locker, and plumbs the same afternoon. It is a marine fresh water molding from Ronco's Tustin, California shop, where they have been building tanks since 1974, and like the rest of the line it leaves the mold blank: fittings are installed per order, spin-welded or threaded exactly where you locate them.
That ordering step is the difference between this and a hardware-store tank. Your fill, vent, and supply positions come from your boat - the drawing below is dimensioned so you can print it, mark it up, and transfer the plan into the fitting planner on this page. The tank arrives drilled for your plumbing, not for the average of everyone else's.
In potable service the polyethylene is FDA compliant, taste-free, and immune to the corrosion that kills metal tanks. Full, the B142 holds about 192 lb of water - 8.34 lb per gallon adds up faster than people expect - so mount it low, supported, and strapped. If 23 gallons is not the size, the boat tank range runs smaller and much larger, and the Ronco Plastics hub shows the whole family. Freight quotes by ZIP are at the freight estimator.
