Eighteen gallons, two possible lives. The Ronco Plastics B166 is molded in Ronco's marine water / waste series, which means the same shell ships as whichever tank you order: with potable fittings it is a fresh water tank in FDA-compliant polyethylene, and with waste fittings it is an 18 gallon gray or black holding tank for a small cruiser or trailerable boat. Nothing about the molding changes - the fittings you specify set the duty.
Those fittings are installed per order, spin-welded or threaded at your marked locations, and the choice of duty should drive the layout: a water tank wants its pickup at the drain-dry point and its vent protected from spray; a holding tank wants its outlet dead-bottom and its vent generous. Print the drawing below, mark the version you are building, and run it through the fitting planner on this page so the tank arrives ready for its actual job.
The tank ships at 80 lb and holds about 150 lb of water at capacity - the usual 8.34 lb per gallon arithmetic that sizes shelves and straps. It comes out of Tustin, California, where Ronco has molded marine tanks since 1974. Fresh-side neighbors are at boat tanks, waste-side context at RV holding tanks, and the full catalog at the Ronco Plastics hub. OneSource Plastics is an authorized Ronco Plastics dealer.
