There is a strong argument for two modest tanks over one big one: redundancy. A second 20 gallon supply on the opposite side of the keel means a failed fitting or a fouled fill never leaves the crew dry, and it gives you trim control - draw down the windward tank first and the boat stands up straighter. The B196 is built for exactly that kind of thinking: a 20 gallon marine fresh water molding that ships at 48 lb and pairs naturally with another tank elsewhere in the hull.
It is rotomolded FDA-compliant polyethylene, one seamless piece, potable-ready. And because Ronco installs fittings per order rather than molding them in, a two-tank system gets mirrored plumbing without compromise: mark the fill, vent, and pickup on the drawing below wherever your manifold wants them - port-biased on one tank, starboard on the other - and the shop spin-welds or thread-installs to those marks. The on-page fitting planner handles the layout if you would rather click than sketch.
Each filled tank carries about 167 lb of water (8.34 lb per gallon), a load that is far kinder to a hull when it is split across two mounting points than stacked in one. That is the sort of installation logic Ronco has been supporting from Tustin, California since 1974.
