Replacing a corroded metal water tank is the classic reason a 44 gallon molding like the B414 gets ordered. Steel and aluminum tanks pit and seep from the inside out; a rotomolded polyethylene shell has no seams to fail and no coating to flake into your water. This is a substantial molding - it ships at 114 lb as a bare blank - so it is built for boats where the tank is structure-adjacent, not an afterthought.
Like every tank in Ronco's marine B-series it is a dual-role shell: plumbed with potable-grade fittings it is a fresh water tank, plumbed for the sanitation side it is a gray or black waste holding tank. You choose the role when you choose the fittings, which Ronco installs to your marks - spin-welded or threaded - before shipping. Print the drawing below, sketch your fitting positions on it, and use the on-page fitting planner to pick sizes and styles.
Full of water the tank carries about 367 lb, so land it on a flat, fully supported platform rather than hanging it from tabs. It is molded in Tustin, California by a shop that has done nothing but plastic tanks since 1974. Compare shapes in our marine tank lineup or browse the whole line on the Ronco Plastics hub. OneSource Plastics is an authorized Ronco Plastics dealer.
