Filled to the top, the B548 weighs almost exactly 100 lb - 12 gallons of water in a 24 x 13.5 x 10 inch molding that ships at just 17 lb. That round number is a useful design fact: it is the weight one person still handles in an emergency, the load any sound locker floor takes, and enough fresh water for a long weekend or enough holding capacity to make a small cruiser legal and comfortable.
The B548 is a B-series dual-role blank. Ordered as a fresh tank it comes with supply fittings in FDA-approved potable polyethylene; ordered as a holding tank the same molding gets waste fittings. The fittings are the fork in the road, and Ronco installs them per order - spin-welded or threaded, at the positions you mark.
