The BOAT17W is a wide, thin slab of capacity: 40 gallons at 40.5 x 24 x 10 inches. Two feet of beamwise width and only 10 inches of height make it the panel-shaped tank in the heavy-duty family - built for the broad shallow space under a cockpit sole or a wide berth flat, where it stores serious water while keeping every one of those pounds tight to the structure.
And the pounds are real: about 334 lb of fresh water at full, spread across nearly seven square feet of bottom, plus a 70 lb heavy-wall blank. That distribution is friendly to flat structure, but the bed still needs to be continuous - a slab tank spanning two bearers concentrates load it was drawn to spread. FDA-compliant potable polyethylene, fresh water duty only.
Fittings are installed per order at the Tustin, California plant, spin-welded or threaded to your marks, as Ronco has done since 1974.
