At this rating the tank handles two broad families. The oxidizers and strong acids need Viton or harder elastomers: Sulfuric Acid (98%, CPVC fittings, Viton gaskets), Hydrochloric Acid (37%, PVC/Viton), Phosphoric Acid (85%, PVC/Viton), Hydrofluoric Acid (48%, PP/PVC, Viton), Hydrogen Peroxide (50%, PVC/Viton), and Sodium Hypochlorite (under 16.5%, PVC/Viton). Peracetic Acid (30%, 316SS fittings) is the one fluid on the chart that calls for Aflas gaskets, not Viton - flag it so you don't drop in the wrong elastomer. The mistake to avoid
Do not spec fittings by size alone. That 3" outlet has to be built in the right material for your fluid - PVC, CPVC, PP, or 316 stainless - paired with the correct gasket. The wrong elastomer at the outlet is where a chemical tank fails first, long before the tank wall does, and DEF running through a PVC fitting instead of stainless is exactly that trap. And never read the SG rating as chemical clearance; the 1.9 number is a weight capability, not a blanket sign-off for a fluid that is not on the chart.
