Chemical compatibility
This is a polyethylene tank rated to 1.5 specific gravity, with a 120 F / 48 C maximum service temperature. The resin is listed as HDLPE but flagged for confirmation. For DEF, urea, and the salt solutions below the resin type is a non-issue — but before you run any oxidizer, confirm HDLPE versus XLPE with us, because crosslinked and linear polyethylene behave differently with aggressive oxidizers. At the 1.5 SG rating, the following are compatible per the Snyder Industries OEM chemical resistance chart, which is concentration- and temperature-specific: Acetic Acid (60%, PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets), Aluminum Sulfate (50%, PVC/EPDM), Calcium Chloride (40%, PVC/EPDM), Ferrous Sulfate (20%, PVC/EPDM), Magnesium Chloride (30%, PVC/EPDM), Sodium Carbonate (30%, PVC/EPDM), and Ozonated Water (up to 10 PPM, PVC/EPDM).
