Where a 7500 gallon 30 degree cone fits

A cone bottom is bought because everything comes out: settled solids and blends that separate drain to the single low point. The 30 degree cone is the middle of Norwesco's three angles, draining faster and cleaner than a 15 degree cone while standing shorter than a 45 degree one. Openings, fittings and what to check before you buy

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. Your valve threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of pipe from the stand or the floor so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The vent is part of the lid and has to stay clear: a tank drained through a 3 inch port pulls air in as fast as liquid leaves, and a tank filled fast pushes the same volume of air out.

4. Height. 149 inches for the tank alone. Add the stand and the room to open the manway before you commit to a building.
