The fitting and gasket pairings below come straight from the OEM chemical-resistance chart and are concentration- and temperature-specific, so match them to your actual service conditions. Stainless-only services: DEF at 32.5% and Peracetic Acid at 30% require 316 stainless fittings (EPDM and Aflas gaskets respectively), and Propylene Glycol and Zinc Orthophosphate call for PP/316SS with EPDM. Do not run PVC or plastic fittings on those services. The mistake to avoid
The most expensive error on a high-SG cone bottom tank is ordering the wrong fitting or gasket material for your concentration. The chemicals on this list split between Viton, EPDM, Aflas, and the harsher services that demand 316 stainless or CPVC fittings, and using EPDM where Viton is required, or PVC where 316 stainless is required, will fail fast. The second mistake is mounting: do not put a cone bottom tank on a flat pad. It needs a steel stand rated for the full loaded weight, and the elevation has to clear your drain plumbing.
