The resin is listed as HDLPE but flagged for confirmation, and the compatibility data below comes from the Snyder Industries OEM chemical resistance chart while this tank is Norwesco-branded - so treat every match as provisional. HDLPE and XLPE behave differently on stress-crack chemicals, which makes confirming HDLPE versus XLPE a hard pre-purchase gate for any chemical service. Call before you order. Some chemicals demand a higher specific-gravity tank than this 1.5 shell provides. Ethylene glycol, ferric chloride, ferric sulfate, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluosilicic acid, hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid, phosphoric acid, polyaluminum chloride, potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, sodium bisulfate, sodium bisulfite, sodium hypochlorite, sodium thiosulfate, sulfuric acid, and zinc orthophosphate all call for a 1.9 SG-rated tank - don't force this one. Watch the gasket and fitting change several of them require: peracetic acid needs Aflas gaskets with 316SS, and sulfuric acid at 98% needs CPVC with Viton, while most of the rest run Viton instead of EPDM.
