The Enduraplas 8000 Gallon White Cone Bottom Tank is a full-drainage polyethylene vessel built for bulk industrial and water-treatment chemical service, rated to 1.9 specific gravity so it carries dense liquids that thin-wall tanks cannot. At 8,000 gallons in a 144-inch by 144-inch footprint and 158 inches tall, it gives you bulk storage with a sloped cone bottom that drains completely from the center outlet - the right pattern for batching, settling, and dosing applications where you cannot leave heel volume sitting in the tank. The molded Natural White wall lets operators read liquid level through the wall, a practical detail on a cone tank where the contents sit on a stand above grade. One note before you specify chemical service: our data lists the resin as HDLPE with a question mark, so confirm HDLPE versus XLPE with us first - for the oxidizers below, that distinction changes the answer.

Will this tank work for your application?

Specify against three numbers. First, capacity and footprint: 8,000 gallons on a 144 x 144 inch base, 158 inches to the top. Second, weight - this is the number that drives your stand and foundation. Water alone at full volume is 66,720 pounds, and at the tank's 1.9 SG rating a full load of dense chemical reaches 126,768 pounds. A cone bottom tank carries that entire load on an engineered steel stand, so size the stand and pad to the rated contents weight, not the water weight. Use the Tank Sizing Calculator to convert your chemical's specific gravity into the actual fill height you can run, and the Tank Sizing Guide if you are still narrowing the size. For stand pairing, the Cone Bottom Tank Stand Compatibility Matrix covers Enduraplas and the other major cone lines.

Chemical compatibility

This is a polyethylene cone tank rated to 1.9 specific gravity, and the resin reads as HDLPE but ends with a question mark in our data - confirm HDLPE versus XLPE with us before you commit it to chemical service, because the distinction matters for the oxidizers in this list. Compatibility is concentration- and temperature-specific; always check the OEM chemical-resistance chart for your exact concentration and operating temperature before ordering. The single most expensive mistake on a chemical cone tank is mismatching the gasket, so read the gasket call-out for every chemical below - they are not interchangeable.

A clear group requires Viton gaskets: sulfuric acid 98% (CPVC fittings), hydrochloric acid 37% (PVC), phosphoric acid 85% (PVC), hydrofluoric acid 48% and hydrofluosilicic acid 26% (both PP/PVC), hydrogen peroxide 50% (PVC), and sodium hypochlorite below 16.5% (PVC). A PVC-and-EPDM fitting on any of these is the classic field error. Peracetic acid 30% goes further still - 316 stainless fittings with Aflas gaskets.

The coagulants and salts run on EPDM gaskets with PVC fittings: ferric chloride 50%, ferric sulfate 60%, ferrous sulfate 20%, aluminum sulfate 50%, polyaluminum chloride, calcium chloride 40%, and magnesium chloride 30%. So do the alkalis and reducers - sodium carbonate 30%, potassium carbonate 50%, potassium hydroxide saturated, sodium bisulfate, sodium bisulfite, sodium thiosulfate 40%, acetic acid 60%, zinc orthophosphate, and ozonated water up to 10 PPM. For stationary bulk storage and dosing, the tank also handles DEF at 32.5% (316 stainless fittings, EPDM gaskets), urea solution at 50% (PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets), and ethylene glycol and propylene glycol coolant blends. Full concentration data lives in our Chemical Compatibility Database.

The mistake to avoid

The number that sinks cone bottom projects is the stand rating. People size the stand to water weight and discover the structure is short by tens of thousands of pounds once dense chemical is in it - the gap here between 66,720 pounds of water and 126,768 pounds at 1.9 SG is over 60,000 pounds. Rate the stand and foundation to the contents weight at your chemical's actual specific gravity, confirm the resin (HDLPE vs XLPE) for your oxidizer, and match every fitting and gasket to the compatibility chart above. If level monitoring is part of the install, the level gauge selection guide for chemical service walks through radar, ultrasonic, hydrostatic, and magnetostrictive options for this kind of tank. See the technical drawing on this page for outlet location and overall dimensions.
