The Enduraplas 870 Gallon Black Cone Bottom Tank with Stand (SKU THC00870KB) is built for full-drain chemical storage and batching where you need the tank to empty completely through the bottom. It pairs an 870-gallon polyethylene cone-bottom tank with a supporting stand, rated to a 1.9 specific gravity so it can hold dense chemistries most water-weight tanks cannot. The tank stands 95" tall on a 60" diameter footprint, weighs roughly 200 lb empty, and is molded in black, FDA Approved polyethylene to shield contents from UV and light.

Will it work for your application?

Product comes with a 3" PP female NPT bulkhead fitting at the cone outlet for gravity discharge and a 16" threaded vented manway up top for filling, dosing, and inspection. The 1.9 SG rating is the number that matters here: full of water this tank carries about 7,256 lb, but at its maximum rated fluid density it can hold up to 13,786 lb of contents. Confirm your chemical's specific gravity against that rating before you fill. The cone-bottom-plus-stand format is standard for mix tanks, day tanks, and clean-out-between-batches service where sediment can't be allowed to settle flat. If you're sizing a stand or comparing frame material, our stand selection decision tree and Enduraplas stand compatibility matrix walk through the tradeoffs, and the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide help you match capacity to your batch volume.

Chemical compatibility

This tank carries a 1.9 SG rating. The resin is listed as HDLPE but is not confirmed — verify HDLPE vs XLPE for your specific chemical before committing to chemical service. Compatibility is drawn from the Snyder Industries OEM chemical resistance chart and is concentration- and temperature-specific, so verify your exact chemical, concentration, temperature, and both fitting and gasket materials. From the OEM chart, this 1.9 SG tank supports storage of chemistries such as Hydrochloric Acid (37%, PVC fittings, Viton gaskets), Sulfuric Acid (98%, CPVC, Viton), Phosphoric Acid (85%, PVC, Viton), Hydrogen Peroxide (50%, PVC, Viton), Sodium Hypochlorite (<16.5%, PVC, Viton), Ferric Chloride (50%, PVC, EPDM), Ferric Sulfate (60%, PVC, EPDM), Ethylene Glycol (100%, PVC, EPDM), Potassium Hydroxide (Saturated, PVC, EPDM), Peracetic Acid (30%, 316SS fittings, Aflas gaskets), and Hydrofluoric Acid (48%, PP/PVC, Viton), among others including Potassium Carbonate, Sodium Thiosulfate, and Zinc Orthophosphate. Lower-SG chemistries sit well within this tank's 1.9 ceiling with room to spare — DEF (32.5%, 316SS, EPDM) and Urea Solution (50%, PP/PVC, EPDM) only require a 1.35 SG tank, while Acetic Acid (60%), Calcium Chloride (40%), and Sodium Carbonate (30%) require 1.5. Match the fitting and gasket material to your chemical — the outlet ships as PP, so a PVC, CPVC, or 316SS fitting and the correct EPDM, Viton, or Aflas gasket may be required. Full details are in our Chemical Compatibility Database.

The mistake to avoid

Don't assume the included 3" PP bulkhead and any gasket will handle your chemical. On aggressive oxidizers and strong acids the PP outlet often needs to be swapped to PVC, CPVC, or 316SS with a Viton or Aflas gasket rather than standard EPDM — using the wrong seal material is the most common cone-bottom failure point. Confirm resin (HDLPE vs XLPE), concentration, and temperature against the OEM chart before ordering, and see the technical drawing on this page for outlet and manway placement.
