50 Gallon Impressions Riverwalk Rain Saver Rain Barrel in Dark Granite

The 50 gallon Impressions Riverwalk Rain Saver rain barrel in dark granite, Bushman part number 600563, collects roof runoff from a downspout for the garden, flower beds and lawn. It is 23 inches wide, 23 inches deep and 38 inches tall, with a stacked slate finish and a planter top. It also comes in Light Granite, Sandstone and Red Brick.

Fittings and setup

Water comes in through a fine poly mesh screen on top that keeps out leaves, insects and small animals. The barrel has two 3/4 inch female fittings, each with a 3/4 inch brass spigot: a low one that drains the barrel and a higher one with room under it for a watering can or a five gallon bucket. The top opening takes a 2 x 3 or 3 x 4 inch downspout behind a fine mesh screen, and a routed channel sends overflow to the front of the barrel to keep water off the foundation. In the box: the barrel, two 3/4 inch brass spigots, the mesh insect screen and instructions.

Where it goes

Full, the barrel holds about 417 lb of water, so set it on firm, level ground, pavers or a stand, never on soft soil that can settle and tip it. Raising it a foot or so gives more pressure at the spigot and room for a watering can. Drain it and leave the spigot open before freezing weather. Rain barrels store water for outdoor use only; do not drink it.
