Nine inches wide. That single dimension is why the 9H exists: a 7-gallon holding tank drawn out to 30 x 9 x 11.25 inches so it can slide into a chase, a rocker cavity, or the gap beside a frame rail where no squarish tank will go. Campervan converters and teardrop builders are the usual buyers.
It is an 11 lb molding that holds about 58 lb of gray or black water when full - waste service only, with no potable rating, so it belongs downstream of the sink or the cassette, never on the supply side. One-piece rotomolded polyethylene means no seams in a tank that will live inches from the road.
Ronco Plastics has molded these in Tustin, California since 1974, and fittings are installed per order - spin-weld or threaded, exactly where you mark them - so print the drawing below and mark your fitting locations to match your plumbing run. If the proportions are wrong, the 7-gallon 19H is the other mold at this capacity, the 9-gallon 36H at 30 x 12.5 x 7.25 inches trades width for height, and the full spread is under RV holding tanks.
