The 1.9 SG mistake to avoid
Specific gravity is where buyers get this tank wrong. The 1.9 rating is a structural spec: it means the tank wall is built to hold a liquid up to 1.9 times the weight of water. It does NOT mean the tank is chemically compatible with any given fluid at that density. Plain water is 1.0 SG, so for water service you have enormous structural margin here. Before storing anything heavier or reactive, verify chemical compatibility for your specific liquid and confirm the gasket and fitting elastomer with us before ordering for anything other than water. Match the fill to what the tank is rated and made to hold, not just the gallons.
