A 25 gallon white vertical tank, 18 inches across and 29 inches tall
The Norwesco 25 gallon vertical liquid storage tank, part number 41867, is a white polyethylene tank 18 inches in diameter and 29 inches tall, weighing 15 lb empty. It comes with a 3/4 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting as the outlet and a 5 inch threaded vented lid on top. It is rated for liquids up to 1.5 specific gravity, which covers water, most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals; 25 gallons of water weighs about 210 lb, and at the 1.5 rating the contents can weigh up to 313 lb. Where a 25 gallon tank goes
An 18 inch circle is about what a drum takes up, and 29 inches of height turns it into 25 gallons: a day tank on a chemical feed pump, a mixing vessel for a batch of treatment solution, make-up water at a wash station, a reserve beside a machine, a supply tank behind the cab of a utility truck. It is the first of the small Norwesco verticals that is really a two person lift when full, so place it once, at the point of use, and run the line to it. Set it on a flat, level, continuous surface that carries the whole base, because a narrow tank on an uneven floor is easy to tip, and strap it to a wall, rack or frame before the first fill. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3/4 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. A small ball valve or a pump suction threads straight into it; support the valve so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Lid. A 5 inch threaded vented lid on top. It takes a hose or a funnel comfortably but not a hand, so plan on flushing rather than scrubbing to clean this tank. The vent lets air move as the level changes; never seal it.
