The Norwesco 25 gallon black vertical storage tank, part number 43937, is a small polyethylene tank 18 inches in diameter and 29 inches tall, weighing 15 lb empty. It is the size that goes where a drum will not: beside a boiler, under a bench, on a wash-down cart or in the corner of a greenhouse. Where it goes
An 18 inch circle is a smaller footprint than a drum, and at 29 inches tall the lid sits below a standard bench top, so this tank fits inside cabinets and under counters where nothing else will. Typical duties are a day tank feeding a chemical pump, a rinse or make-up water tank on a cart, a reservoir for a small irrigation or misting system, and a holding tank in a lab or a wash bay. It needs a flat, continuous surface under the whole base; a flat bottomed tank carries its weight through whatever is under it, so sweep the spot first. What goes in it
Water, fertilizer solution, cleaning solution and the treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Check anything stronger in our chemical compatibility guide before it goes in, and keep the contents at or below 120 F. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water need a heavy duty tank. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3/4 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall. A 3/4 inch ball valve, a hose barb or the suction line of a small pump threads straight in. Dry-fit the valve so the handle clears the tank before you tighten it.
- Lid. A 5 inch threaded vented lid on top: big enough to fill from a hose or a jug and to drop a small float or a suction tube in. Keep the vent clear so a pump can draw without pulling the walls in.
