Part number 64191 is a single steel hoop for Norwesco's 1635 gallon tank, made at the Griffin, Georgia plant. It is sold one hoop at a time and the tank takes four, so set the quantity to four for a complete set. Each hoop is white painted steel, 74 inches long, 52 inches tall and 2 inches wide, and weighs 40 lb. A hoop is the band that holds a horizontal tank down to whatever it rides on: it goes over the top of the tank and its ends anchor to the deck or frame below, so the tank cannot lift, walk or roll when the vehicle moves or the load sloshes.

What to check before you buy
- The tank. This hoop is shaped for the 1635 gallon tank. A hoop that is close in size but not the right one leaves a gap on top or will not reach the deck at the bottom; confirm the tank part number with us if there is any doubt.
- The count. Four per tank. Fewer than the full set puts the whole load on too few bands.
- The deck. The hoop ends need something solid to anchor to. Anchor hardware for the deck is not part of the hoop; plan it with the frame or trailer the tank sits on.
- Drawing. Norwesco's drawing for the hoop, linked under Technical Drawing on this page, gives the band profile and the end dimensions for laying out the anchors.
Fitting the hoops
Set the tank where it will live and mark the hoop positions from the drawing before drilling anything. Snug all four hoops evenly rather than pulling one tight at a time, so the tank is held round instead of pinched. Leave a little give: a polyethylene tank swells slightly when it is full and warm, and a band cranked down on an empty tank in the morning is overtight by afternoon. Check the hoops after the first full load and again after the first season.
