Part number 63546 is a single steel bolt down hoop for Norwesco's 335 gallon tank. The tank takes two, and the hoop is sold one at a time, so order a quantity of two for a complete set. Each hoop is steel, 53 inches long, 29 inches tall and 2 inches wide, and weighs 12 lb. A bolt down hoop is how a horizontal tank is held to whatever it rides on: the hoop goes over the top of the tank and its feet bolt to the deck, skid or trailer frame below, so the tank cannot lift, walk or roll when the vehicle moves or the load sloshes. On a tank this size, which often rides in a pickup bed or on a small trailer, the hoops are what keep it there under braking.

What to check before you buy
- The tank. This hoop is formed for the 335 gallon tank. Hoops are not interchangeable between sizes; one that is close leaves a gap on top or will not reach the deck. Confirm the tank part number with us if there is any doubt.
- The count. Two per tank. One hoop holds one end and lets the other end lift.
- The deck. The hoop feet need something solid to bolt to. The bolts and the deck plate are part of the mount, not the hoop; on a pickup bed that usually means a backing plate under the bed floor.
- Drawing. Norwesco's drawing for the hoop, linked under Technical Drawing on this page, gives the profile and the foot dimensions for laying out the bolt holes.
Fitting the hoops
Set the tank where it will live and mark the hoop positions from the drawing before drilling. Bring both hoops up evenly so the tank is held round rather than pinched at one point. Leave a little give: polyethylene swells slightly when it is full and warm, and a hoop cranked down on an empty tank in the morning is overtight by afternoon. Re-check the bolts after the first full load and at the start of each season.
