Part number 61744 is a single steel band for Norwesco's 125 gallon tank. The tank takes two, and the band is sold one at a time, so order a quantity of two for a complete set. Each band is steel, 35 inches long, 31 inches tall and 2 inches wide, and weighs 5 lb. A band is how a small horizontal tank is held to whatever it rides on: it wraps over the top of the tank and anchors to the deck, skid or bed below, so the tank cannot lift, slide or roll under braking or when the load sloshes. A 125 gallon tank is the size that rides in a pickup bed or on a utility vehicle, which is exactly where an unbanded tank becomes a problem.

What to check before you buy
- The tank. This band is formed for the 125 gallon tank. Bands are not interchangeable between sizes; one that is close leaves a gap on top or will not reach the deck. Confirm the tank part number with us if there is any doubt.
- The count. Two per tank. One band holds one end and lets the other end lift.
- The mount. The band ends need something solid to anchor to. On a pickup bed that usually means a backing plate under the floor. The anchor hardware is part of the mount, not the band.
- Drawing. Norwesco's drawing for the band, linked under Technical Drawing on this page, gives the profile and the end dimensions for laying out the anchor points.
Fitting the bands
Set the tank where it will live and mark the band positions from the drawing before drilling. Bring both bands up evenly so the tank is held round rather than pinched at one point. Leave a little give: polyethylene swells slightly when it is full and warm, and a band cranked down on an empty tank in the morning is overtight by afternoon.
