One elliptical support band for Norwesco's 1635 gallon BD tank, four needed per tank
Part number 60586 is a single steel support band for Norwesco's 1635 gallon BD elliptical tank. The tank takes four, and the band is sold one at a time, so order a quantity of four for a complete set. Each band is brown painted steel, 74 inches long, 51 inches tall and 1.5 inches wide, and weighs 28 lb. An elliptical tank is wider than it is tall, and its bands are formed to that oval; a band for a round tank will not follow the shell. The band wraps over the tank and anchors to the deck or frame underneath so the tank cannot lift, shift or roll when it moves or when the load sloshes.

What to check before you buy
- The tank. This band is formed for the 1635 gallon BD elliptical tank. Bands are not interchangeable between sizes or between round and elliptical shells. Confirm the tank part number with us if there is any doubt.
- The count. Four per tank. A partial set puts the whole load on too few bands.
- The mount. The band ends anchor to the deck, skid or trailer frame. That anchor hardware belongs to the mount and does not come with the band.
- Drawing. Norwesco's drawing for the band, linked under Technical Drawing on this page, gives the profile and the end dimensions for laying out the anchor points.
Fitting the bands
Place the tank first and mark the band positions from the drawing before drilling. Bring all four bands up evenly so the oval shell is held in shape rather than pinched at one point. Leave a little give: polyethylene swells slightly when it is full and warm, and a band pulled tight on an empty tank in the morning is overtight by afternoon. Re-check the bands after the first full load and at the start of each season.
