A 2 inch 316 stainless steel bolted fitting with an EPDM gasket, for Norwesco tanks
Part number 64202 is Norwesco's 2 inch double threaded bolted fitting in 316 stainless steel, supplied with an EPDM gasket. It is the metal alternative to a plastic bulkhead: a two piece fitting that bolts through the tank wall from both sides, with the gasket sealing against the inside of the wall and a 2 inch thread on each face for your valve or pipe. Stainless is the usual choice where the port carries hardware a plastic fitting should not, or where a plant standard calls for metal at every connection. The fitting is about 4 inches across, weighs 6 lb, and ships in a small carton by UPS.

What to check before you buy
- The size. 2 inch on both faces. Match it to the valve, camlock or pipe you already have.
- The gasket and the liquid. The EPDM gasket is the seal that touches your liquid, so check the liquid against EPDM as well as against 316 stainless before you order. Tell us what goes in the tank if the pairing is not a standard one.
- The wall. A bolted fitting needs a flat area of wall at least as wide as its flange so the gasket seals all the way round. Ask us for the flange dimensions if you are drilling an existing tank.
- Factory or field. Buying a new Norwesco tank at the same time? Ask us to have the fitting installed at the plant, where the hole is cut to the right size in a controlled setting.
Installing it
Dry-fit the two halves before the gasket goes in, turn the outside face so the thread points where the pipe will run, and tighten the bolts evenly in a cross pattern so the gasket is compressed flat instead of pinched on one side. Stop when the gasket is seated; crushing an EPDM gasket is the usual cause of a weep that shows up a week later. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own. Fill with water the first time and look at the joint inside and out.
