This is a white HDLPE tank with a 1.5 specific gravity rating, which sets a hard ceiling on what you can safely store: the contents must weigh no more than 1.5 times water at the same volume. Filled with plain water the tank carries about 542 lb, and it is rated to hold up to 813 lb of contents at the full 1.5 SG - roughly 271 lb of additional load capacity above plain water before you reach the ceiling, which is the headroom you have for a borderline chemistry around SG 1.4. Use those numbers when you spec a stand, secondary containment pad, or skid - a 65 gallon tank is light empty but real weight once charged. Chemical compatibility
This tank is molded in HDLPE and rated for 1.5 specific gravity. Compatibility always depends on chemical, concentration, and temperature, so confirm your exact chemistry against our concentration- and temperature-specific compatibility data before committing to chemical service. - Magnesium Chloride at 30% - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Sodium Carbonate at 30% - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Urea Solution at 50% - PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
- Ozonated Water up to 10 PPM - PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets
A common, costly mistake on this tank is assuming the 1.5 SG rating covers every chemical. It does not. Heavier or more aggressive chemistries require a higher 1.9 SG tank instead. Several of those still run on standard PVC fittings and EPDM gaskets, so the only blocker is the SG step-up, not exotic hardware - that group includes Ethylene Glycol, Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Bisulfate, Sodium Bisulfite, Sodium Thiosulfate, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, and Zinc Orthophosphate. A second group on the 1.9 SG tank also needs Viton or Aflas gaskets and CPVC or 316SS hardware rather than EPDM - that is Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Peracetic Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Sodium Hypochlorite, and Sulfuric Acid. Mistake to avoid: match fittings and gaskets to the chemical
The tank resin is only half the corrosion picture. The wrong gasket or bulkhead material fails long before the polyethylene does. Match every wetted component - bulkheads, valves, and especially gaskets - to the chemical you are running, using the fitting and gasket materials listed above as your baseline.
