- The floor. The stand needs a flat, level, continuous 42 inch square, with no drain, joint or slope under it. A stand on a floor that falls toward a drain sits on three feet instead of four.
- The height. With the tank in it, the bottom of the cone sits 54 inches up. That decides what fits underneath: a valve and a hose, a drum, a pump inlet or a mixer. Measure that equipment before the order, not after.
- Anchoring. No anchor hardware comes with the stand. If your site needs it bolted down, that hardware and the pad design are yours.

Put the stand in its final position first and check it with a level across both diagonals. Set the empty tank in it and turn the tank so the outlet points where the pipe will run. Fit the outlet valve before the first fill, and fill with water the first time so any problem shows up with something harmless in the tank.
