A 14 inch threaded manway lid that stays shut and does not breathe, for Snyder tanks
Part number 34701295 is Snyder's 14 inch threaded manway in black plastic, the non-vented version. A manway is the big lid on top of a tank: wide enough to fill from a hose, to drop a float or a suction line in, and to get a hand and a brush inside to clean. This one screws onto the 14 inch threaded neck Snyder moulds into many of its vertical tanks, and because it is non-vented it seals the opening instead of letting the tank breathe through the lid. That is what you want when the tank vents somewhere else, or when the contents must not pick up moisture from the air. What to check before you buy
- The neck. 14 inch threaded. Measure across the tank's neck, not the old lid, and confirm it is a threaded neck and not a bolt-on flange. Tell us the tank part number and we confirm the match with Snyder before it ships.
- Venting. Non-vented. A tank that is filled and emptied needs air in and out somewhere; if this lid is the only opening, the tank will bulge on filling and pull in on draining. Make sure the tank has its own vent, or choose Snyder's vented 14 inch manway instead.
- The resin. Snyder's name for the part says PE and our material listing says polypropylene. Both handle water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals; if the exact resin matters for your liquid, ask us and we confirm it with Snyder before the order ships.

Fitting it
Clean the neck threads and the lid threads before the first fit; grit between them is the usual cause of a lid that will not seat or will not come off again. Screw it on by hand until it stops. Check that the tank's own vent is clear, then fill with water the first time and watch the top of the tank as it fills and drains.
