A 2 inch Schedule 40 PVC siphon tube with an EPDM gasket
Part number 34700209 is Snyder's 2 inch siphon tube in Schedule 40 PVC with an EPDM gasket. A siphon tube is a short length of pipe that sits inside the tank on the back of a fitting and moves the point the liquid is drawn from. On a flat-bottom tank with a sidewall outlet, the fitting has to sit a little way up the wall, which leaves liquid below it that a straight outlet can never reach. A siphon tube turned down toward the floor lets the outlet draw that last few inches, so more of what you paid for comes out of the tank. The tube is 9 inches long, about 4 inches across at the gasket end, and weighs 2 lb. The 2 inch size has to match the fitting it goes into.

What to check before you buy
- The fitting. The siphon tube goes on the inside of a 2 inch fitting. Tell us the fitting part number and we confirm the pairing with Snyder before the order ships. Snyder's drawing for the tube is linked on this page under Technical Drawing.
- The reach. At 9 inches the tube is sized for where Snyder puts its sidewall outlets. Compare it with the height of your outlet above the tank floor, on the tank's own drawing, before you decide it solves the problem.
- The liquid. Schedule 40 PVC and the EPDM gasket are both wetted. PVC handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals; check the liquid against both before you order.

Installing it
The tube is fitted from inside the tank, so it goes in while the tank is empty and before the manway is out of reach. Dry-fit it to the fitting, turn it so the open end points at the floor and sits clear of the wall, and seat the gasket squarely before you tighten. Do not force the end of the tube against the tank floor; leave a gap so the outlet can breathe and draw. Fill with water the first time and watch the outlet run down to confirm the tube is picking up where you expect.
