A 6 inch PVC flange adapter for Snyder tank fittings
Part number 34701205 is Snyder's 6 inch PVC flange adapter. A flange adapter is the piece that joins a flanged tank fitting to ordinary pipe: one face bolts up to the flange on the tank, the other side takes the pipe. You order it when the tank's outlet is a bolted flanged fitting and the line leaving it is plain pipe, or when you want a joint you can unbolt for a valve change instead of cutting the run. At 6 inches this is a main outlet connection, the size that matters on a big tank where draining time and pump suction count. The adapter weighs 5 lb and ships by UPS.

What to check before you buy
- The size. 6 inch, and it has to be the same 6 inch as the flanged fitting on the tank. A flange joint only seals when both faces and both bolt patterns match, so tell us the fitting part number and we confirm the pair before it ships.
- The material. PVC suits water and many common chemicals at ordinary temperatures. Check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide before you order; for warm or aggressive service, Snyder makes a CPVC version and we can swap it on the order.
- The gasket and bolts. None are listed with this adapter. Plan on the gasket and hardware that come with the flanged fitting, or tell us and we add them.

Installing it
Bolt the adapter to the tank fitting before any pipe is connected, with the gasket seated flat and the bolts pulled up evenly in a cross pattern so the faces close square. Then bring the pipe to the adapter, not the adapter to the pipe; a 6 inch run that has to be forced into line puts a permanent side load on the tank wall. Support the pipe and the valve on their own within a foot of the joint. A flange is the joint you will open later, so leave room for a wrench on every bolt.

A 5 lb part in a 12 by 12 by 12 inch carton, by UPS from Snyder's Lincoln, Nebraska plant when ordered loose. Fittings installed on a tank at the factory ship with the tank from that tank's plant.
