A 24 inch vented threaded manway for large tank openings
SII-34700352 is Snyder's 24 inch vented threaded tank manway, moulded in high density linear polyethylene. It weighs 10 lb and ships in a package 24 by 24 by 6 inches. A 24 inch opening is the large access on a tank: wide enough for a person to get head and shoulders in for inspection, for a mixer or a large pump to go through, and for proper cleaning. That makes the lid more than a cover. It is the door to the tank, and it has to close tight against weather and breathe so the tank can fill and drain.

When a big manway lid needs replacing
Large lids live a hard life. They sit in full sun on the top of the tank, get stood on, get pried at with a screwdriver when they stick, and get left off when someone is in a hurry. Replace the lid when it has cracks, when the plastic has gone chalky and brittle, when the vent is broken or plugged, or when it will no longer thread down cleanly. An open or broken 24 inch opening lets in rain, dirt, insects and small animals, and on a tank holding liquid it is a fall hazard as well. Do not put off the replacement until the next fill.
The vent matters on a large tank. Filling pushes a large volume of air out, and drawing liquid down pulls the same volume back in. The vent in the lid gives that air a path so the tank does not push liquid out of fittings or pull its walls in. For fast pumping or liquids that give off fumes, ask us about a separate vent sized to the flow.
