The Norwesco 150 Gallon Doorway Water Tank (MPN 45716) is a one-piece rotomolded high-density polyethylene tank engineered for above-ground potable and non-potable water storage in residential, agricultural, and rural municipal-water service.

Design

  • NSF/ANSI 61–listed resin certified for drinking-water-system component service
  • UV-stabilized polyethylene compound rated for direct outdoor sun exposure without coating
  • Self-supporting flat-bottom design — no internal bracing, no external support cage required
  • FDA-listed resin under 21 CFR 177.1520 for direct potable-water contact
  • Translucent natural-color option permits visible fill-level inspection without an external gauge

Installation

Set on a level concrete pad, compacted base ring, or 2x6 wood platform sized at least 6 inches wider than the tank diameter. A filled water column at 150 gallons exerts approximately 1,251 lb of point load — confirm the supporting structure meets this load case before commissioning. For wind-exposed installations or seismic IBC Risk Category III/IV jurisdictions, anchor the tank with steel strapping to a structural foundation per ASCE 7 Chapter 13 non-structural component anchorage requirements.

Common applications

  • Rainwater harvesting downstream of gutter collection systems
  • Greenhouse and nursery irrigation buffer for drip and overhead systems
  • Agricultural orchard, vineyard, and row-crop drip-irrigation supply tank
  • Rural homestead and off-grid cabin whole-house potable water buffer
  • Low-yield well storage cistern for residences experiencing seasonal drawdown
  • Livestock watering supply for cattle, equine, swine, sheep, and goat operations

Compatibility & compliance

Rotomolded HDPE wall meets ASTM D1998 (Polyethylene Upright Storage Tanks for Storage of Aggressive Chemicals) for non-pressurized atmospheric service. NSF/ANSI 61 listing applies to drinking-water-system components when the OEM model carries the certification mark. Not rated for petroleum products, organic solvents, or liquids of specific gravity above 1.0 unless the tank is explicitly labeled for heavy-duty service.

Shipping

Ships LTL freight from the nearest manufacturing plant. ZIP-specific freight quotes are available through the freight estimator or by phoning 866-418-1777 with MPN 45716.
