A 16 inch lid and ring with a snap-in vent for Norwesco tanks
Part number 63485 is Norwesco's 16 inch lid and ring assembly, moulded in black polypropylene, with a blue snap-in vent fitted in the lid. It is the top of a tank: the ring is the part that fits the 16 inch opening, the lid closes on the ring, and the vent lets air in and out as the level changes so the tank neither bulges on fill nor pulls in on draw-down. The assembly is 16 inches at the opening, about 18 inches across the ring and 4 inches tall, and weighs 4 lb. Black keeps light off the contents, which slows algae in stored water.

What to check before you buy
- The opening. 16 inch. Measure across the opening on your tank, or read the lid size on your tank's page; a lid is one of the few parts where close is not good enough.
- Vented or not. This lid is vented. A tank that is filled and emptied needs a vent somewhere, and on most storage tanks the lid is where it lives. If your tank vents through a separate fitting and the contents must stay sealed, you want a non-vented lid instead.
- Lid only, or lid and ring. This is both. If your ring is sound and only the lid is damaged, tell us and we will point you to the lid alone.

Fitting it
Clean the tank opening and the ring seat before the new ring goes on; grit under a ring is the usual cause of a lid that will not sit square. Hand tight is the rule for a plastic lid. Check the vent is clear each time you open the tank, because a blocked vent on a tank being pumped out does more damage than a missing lid.
