A cone bottom tank has no flat base, so it needs a stand that cradles the cone and lifts the outlet high enough to get a valve, a hose or a container underneath. What to check before you buy
- The tank. Norwesco pairs each cone bottom tank with its own stand. Our cone bottom tank stand compatibility matrix lists which stand goes under which tank; if your tank is another size or make, tell us the part number before you order.
- The floor. The stand needs a flat, level, continuous 35 inch square with no drain, joint or slope under it. A stand on a floor that falls toward a drain rests on three feet instead of four.
- The height. The frame is 31 inches tall, which sets how much room there is under the cone outlet for a valve, a bucket, a pump inlet or a drum. Measure that equipment before the order, not after.

- Anchoring. No anchor hardware comes with the stand. If your site needs it bolted down, that hardware is yours to plan.

Setting it up
Put the stand in its final position and check it with a level across both diagonals. Set the empty tank in it and turn the tank so the outlet points where the pipe will run. Fit the outlet valve before the first fill, and fill with water the first time so any problem shows up with something harmless in the tank. A full cone bottom tank on a stand is a concentrated load on four feet; the tank's own documentation and your installer, not this page, decide what your floor has to carry.
