Where a 300 gallon pump tank fits
Three hundred gallons is a comfortable dosing chamber for a single home with a mound or drip system, which in Florida is most of the ones where the drainfield cannot be fed by gravity. The dose volume and the pump cycle come from the county health department approval; the tank just has to hold the dose plus the reserve below the pump and the emergency storage above the high float, which is why a 300 often beats a 225 on a drip system with long cycles. - The state. Norwesco lists this model's septic approval as Florida only. Outside Florida, order the 300 gallon septic pump tank in the other shell.
- The manway. One 20 inch gasketed manway on top. It is the access for the pump, the floats and the discharge line; plan a riser to grade so nobody digs to service the pump.
- Inlet and outlet. None are factory installed. The installer cuts the inlet and the discharge where the site needs them, with the seals the county requires. Tell us the pipe sizes and we will confirm what to add to the order.
- Temperature. Rated to 130 F, well above household effluent.
- Burial. Follow Norwesco's installation instructions for bedding and backfill, with water in the tank as you backfill. Keep it clear of drives and vehicle paths unless an engineered cover is in the design.
