What to check before you buy

1. The fittings. The outlet size, its height in the wall and the manway size come from Norwesco's drawing linked on this page. Tell us what you are connecting and we confirm the match in writing before the tank ships. Do not buy the valve first.
2. The pad. A rotationally moulded floor bears on everything it touches and nothing else. Give the whole 98 inch circle continuous, level contact: a slab, a steel plate, or a compacted and screeded bed with a retained edge. No rails, no pallet, no shim under one side.
3. Restraint. An empty polyethylene tank is a sail. Strap it to a wall, a frame or ground anchors before the first fill, and check the strap after it has been full once and settled.
4. The liquid. Up to 1.5 specific gravity. Polyethylene suits water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals; check anything else with us before you order, and ask about the service temperature if the liquid runs warm.
5. Reach. Leave clear pad round the base so the outlet can be reached with two hands and a wrench, and room above the manway for a fill hose or a float.

Shipping and receiving

The tank travels on an LTL trailer at 98 by 98 by 101 inches from Norwesco's Petersburg, Texas plant, which makes Texas, the Panhandle and the states around them the short lane. The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP, or request a written quote for a job that needs paperwork. The truck needs room to turn and a place to set an eight foot shell down, so tell us if the site is tight. At the tailgate, check the part number 42956 on the bill of lading, walk round the shell for transit damage before the driver leaves, set it with the outlet toward the pipe run, and fill it with water the first time so any problem shows up with something harmless in it.
