The Chemtainer 100 Gallon 15 Degree Vertical Cone Bottom Tank (SKU TC3048AP-BLACK) is a closed-top polyethylene tank with a 15-degree cone bottom seated on a matching poly stand, built for chemical batching and full-drain dosing where you can't leave sediment or residual product behind. It measures 30" in diameter, stands 48" tall on its stand, holds 100 gallons, weighs 87 lb empty, and carries an 8" lid for filling, mixing access, and inspection.

Will it hold your chemical

The reason to reach for this SKU over a cheaper water tank is its 2.0 specific-gravity rating. A standard 1.5-SG tank physically cannot hold the dense acids and oxidizers below — only a 2.0-rated shell can. At 100 gallons of plain water you're carrying 834 lb of contents; loaded to the full 2.0-SG rating, contents can reach 1,668 lb, so the poly stand and your floor both have to carry that number. Chemical compatibility

This is a polyethylene tank rated to 2.0 SG, and its resin is recorded as HDLPE-pending — confirm HDLPE versus XLPE with us before you put it into chemical service, because that distinction changes what it can safely hold under aggressive chemistry. Everything below is drawn from the Snyder Industries OEM chemical resistance chart, which is concentration- and temperature-specific; verify your exact chemical, concentration, temperature, and fitting and gasket materials before ordering. It helps to group the listed chemicals by the tank SG each one demands:

1.35 SG (widest margin — the safest, most common commercial use): DEF at 32.5% (316SS fittings, EPDM gaskets) and urea solution at 50% (PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets). If you're a DEF or fluid-fertilizer user, this tank has enormous headroom over what those liquids require — just note DEF specifically wants stainless, not the PVC most of the acid list uses.

1.5 SG: acetic acid at 60% (PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets), aluminum sulfate at 50%, calcium chloride at 40%, magnesium chloride at 30%, sodium carbonate at 30%, ferrous sulfate at 20% (PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets), and ozonated water up to 10 PPM (PVC/EPDM).

1.9 SG (why you need this tank, not a 1.5-SG one): hydrochloric acid at 37% (PVC/Viton), hydrofluoric acid at 48% (PP/PVC/Viton), hydrofluosilicic acid at 26% (PP/PVC/Viton), sulfuric acid at 98% (CPVC/Viton), phosphoric acid at 85% (PVC/Viton), hydrogen peroxide at 50% (PVC/Viton), sodium hypochlorite under 16.5% (PVC/Viton), ferric chloride at 50%, ferric sulfate at 60%, ethylene glycol at 100%, potassium carbonate at 50%, potassium hydroxide (saturated), sodium thiosulfate at 40%, peracetic acid at 30% (316SS/Aflas), polyaluminum chloride, propylene glycol, sodium bisulfate, sodium bisulfite, and zinc orthophosphate. The mistake to avoid

Don't spec fittings and gaskets off the tank alone. The polyethylene shell tolerates a wide range, but the wetted parts don't — a PVC bulkhead with an EPDM gasket will fail fast on strong oxidizers like sulfuric acid or sodium hypochlorite, where Viton or CPVC is required, and peracetic acid needs 316SS with Aflas. The same tank wants Viton on an oxidizer and EPDM on a salt. And because the resin grade is recorded as HDLPE-pending, confirm HDLPE versus XLPE with us before dosing any of the 1.9-SG acids — cross-linked and linear polyethylene behave differently under that chemistry.
