The Enduraplas 1600 Gallon White Cone Bottom Tank is a full-drain vessel built for industrial chemical batching, mixing, and dosing where you need every gallon to gravity-feed out the bottom. It holds 1,600 gallons in natural white polyethylene with a 1.9 specific gravity rating, stands 86 inches tall, and seats on a 90 x 90 inch footprint. The natural white wall lets you eyeball fluid level at a glance, and the 1.9 SG rating is the highest rating offered on this vessel - engineered for dense chemical service well beyond plain water, with no denser-rated version of this tank to step up to.
Will it hold up for your job?
A cone bottom tank is not freestanding - the conical floor requires a matching stand to carry the load. Size your structure before the tank arrives: filled with water this tank carries 13,344 lb, and at its maximum rated 1.9 SG contents it reaches 25,354 lb. That contents weight, not the water number, is what your stand, pad, and anchoring must be engineered for. Read the Cone Bottom Tank Stand Compatibility Matrix and the 1600 Gallon 30 Degree Cone Bottom Tank with Poly Stand buyer's guide before you order a stand, and use the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide to confirm the size matches your batch volume. See the technical drawing on this page for fitting locations and dimensional detail.
Chemical compatibility
This is a polyethylene cone bottom tank rated to 1.9 specific gravity. The resin grade is listed as HDLPE but unconfirmed - verify HDLPE versus XLPE construction with us at 866-418-1777 before committing it to chemical service, because cross-linked and high-density polyethylene differ in chemical and stress-crack behavior. Confirm the resin and your chemical concentration and temperature together on the same call, because the fitting and gasket recommendations below assume the verified resin, and compatibility is concentration- and temperature-dependent, not a simple yes/no. Always confirm every choice against the OEM chemical-resistance chart at your specific concentration and temperature.
Chemicals this tank's polyethylene supports, with the recommended fitting and gasket materials at the listed concentrations, include: Acetic Acid (60%, PP/PVC, EPDM); Aluminum Sulfate (50%, PVC, EPDM); Calcium Chloride (40%, PVC, EPDM); DEF (32.5%, 316SS, EPDM); Ethylene Glycol (100%, PVC, EPDM); Ferric Chloride (50%, PVC, EPDM); Ferric Sulfate (60%, PVC, EPDM); Ferrous Sulfate (20%, PVC, EPDM); Hydrochloric Acid (37%, PVC, Viton); Hydrofluoric Acid (48%, PP/PVC, Viton); Hydrofluosilicic Acid (26%, PP/PVC, Viton); Hydrogen Peroxide (50%, PVC, Viton); Magnesium Chloride (30%, PVC, EPDM); Peracetic Acid (30%, 316SS, Aflas); Phosphoric Acid (85%, PVC, Viton); Polyaluminum Chloride (PVC, EPDM); Potassium Carbonate (50%, PVC, EPDM); Potassium Hydroxide (saturated, PVC, EPDM); Propylene Glycol (PP/316SS, EPDM); Sodium Bisulfate (PVC/PP, EPDM); Sodium Bisulfite (PVC/PP, EPDM); Sodium Carbonate (30%, PVC, EPDM); Sodium Hypochlorite (under 16.5%, PVC, Viton); Sodium Thiosulfate (40%, PVC, EPDM); Sulfuric Acid (98%, CPVC, Viton); Urea Solution (50%, PP/PVC, EPDM); and Zinc Orthophosphate (PP/316SS, EPDM). Ozonated Water (up to 10 PPM, PVC, EPDM) is also supported but does not yet have its own page - call 866-418-1777 or check the Chemical Compatibility Database for it. Order the right gasket and fittings the first time
Getting the gasket wrong is the most common failure on a chemical tank, so match it to your chemical from the pack data: use EPDM for the salts, bases, and glycols (aluminum sulfate, calcium chloride, sodium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, ethylene glycol, and similar); use Viton for the oxidizers and strong acids (hydrochloric acid, hydrogen peroxide, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, sodium hypochlorite); and use Aflas for peracetic acid. Fittings are not one-size-fits-all either: most chemicals here run PVC or PP, but DEF and peracetic acid require 316 stainless, and 98% sulfuric acid steps up to CPVC rather than plain PVC. Spec these exceptions on your PO so one fitting kit does not get assumed across the whole tank.
