The Enduraplas 550 Gallon White Cone Bottom Tank with Stand (SKU THC00550KW) is built for applications where you drain the vessel completely between batches. The cone bottom sits inside an integrated poly stand so gravity carries the contents down toward the 3" PP female NPT bulkhead outlet. It stands 69" tall on a 60" diameter footprint, is molded from polyethylene in natural white, and ships empty at roughly 150 lb. This tank carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating — engineered for dense liquids well beyond water — and is FDA approved. Top access is through a 16" threaded vented manway.

Will it hold what you are putting in it?

Start with weight. Full of water this 550 gallon tank carries about 4,587 lb; at its maximum 1.9 SG rating it is rated for up to 8,715 lb of contents. Confirm your pad and anchoring can carry the loaded figure for your actual liquid, not just water. One honest note on drainage: the outlet is a 3" bulkhead fitting, and the cone angle is not listed on our spec sheet, so do not assume complete dry-out from the bulkhead alone — add a full-port bottom valve or riser and confirm the cone slope with us if true self-draining matters. If you are unsure 550 gallons is the right size for your batch or day tank, run the numbers through our Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide first. For how the cone-and-poly-stand pairing works, the 550 gallon cone bottom buyer's guide, the steel frame vs polyethylene stand decision tree, and the stand compatibility matrix walk through the trade-offs.

Chemical compatibility

Before anything else: the resin is recorded as HDLPE with a question mark. Confirm HDLPE versus XLPE (cross-linked) with us before committing this tank to chemical service — the two behave differently with oxidizers and strong acids specifically, which is most of the list below. Once resin is confirmed, note that at 1.9 SG this is the top density rating offered, so there is no heavier vessel to step up to for any reagent on the chart. The chemicals below come from the Snyder Industries OEM chemical resistance chart, which is concentration and temperature specific; verify your exact chemical, concentration, temperature, and both fitting and gasket material before you buy.

Compatible chemicals from the chart include Sulfuric Acid at 98% (CPVC fittings, Viton gaskets), Hydrochloric Acid at 37% (PVC, Viton), Hydrofluoric Acid at 48% (PP/PVC, Viton), Phosphoric Acid at 85% (PVC, Viton), Ferric Chloride at 50% and Ferric Sulfate at 60% (PVC, EPDM), Sodium Hypochlorite up to 16.5% (PVC, Viton), Hydrogen Peroxide at 50% (PVC, Viton), Ethylene Glycol at 100% (PVC, EPDM), Potassium Hydroxide saturated (PVC, EPDM), and Peracetic Acid at 30% (316SS fittings, Aflas gaskets). Lower-SG-rated reagents such as DEF at 32.5% (316SS), Urea Solution at 50%, Acetic Acid at 60%, Aluminum Sulfate at 50%, Calcium Chloride at 40%, Magnesium Chloride at 30%, Sodium Carbonate at 30%, and Ferrous Sulfate at 20% are covered as well, along with Hydrofluosilicic Acid, Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Bisulfate, Sodium Bisulfite, Sodium Thiosulfate, Zinc Orthophosphate, and Ozonated Water up to 10 PPM. Cross-check every candidate against our Chemical Compatibility Database.

The mistake to avoid

Do not spec the fitting and gasket from habit. The stock 3" PP bulkhead is not universal here: Sulfuric Acid at 98% needs CPVC hardware with a Viton gasket, and Peracetic Acid at 30% is the one outlier requiring 316SS with an Aflas gasket — an EPDM seal or a plain PVC fitting will fail on those services even though the tank body is compatible. Match the fitting and gasket listed for your exact reagent, and settle the HDLPE-versus-XLPE resin question before running any oxidizer or strong acid. Review the technical drawing on this page for outlet and manway placement before you plumb it.
