The Enduraplas 870 Gallon Green Cone Bottom Tank with Stand (SKU THC00870KG) is a full-drain vessel built for batch chemical processes where you empty the tank completely between runs. The green polyethylene body holds 870 gallons, stands 95 inches tall on a 60-inch diameter footprint, and ships with its supporting stand so the cone drains to the outlet. It comes with a 3" PP female NPT bulkhead fitting at the outlet and a 16" threaded vented manway up top, and the empty tank weighs 200 lbs. This is an 870 gallon Enduraplas cone bottom tank on a stand, and for chemical service the number that governs everything is the 1.9 specific gravity rating. It carries an FDA-approved material rating.

Will it work for your process?

Sizing is where cone-bottom buyers get caught. Filled with plain water this tank carries roughly 7,256 lbs; at its full 1.9 SG rating the contents can reach about 13,786 lbs. That entire load transfers into the stand and then into your slab, so confirm the pad and anchoring are rated for a mounted, elevated cone tank before delivery. The vented 16" manway keeps the headspace from pulling a vacuum as you drain through the 3" bulkhead. For cone angle, outlet placement, and stand geometry, review the technical drawing on this page before ordering. If you are still choosing capacity or comparing stand types, our Tank Sizing Calculator, Tank Sizing Guide, and the steel-frame vs. polyethylene stand decision tree walk the trade-offs, and the Norwesco, Snyder, and Enduraplas stand compatibility matrix covers fit.

Chemical compatibility

This tank is molded polyethylene rated to 1.9 specific gravity. The resin is listed as HDLPE but not fully confirmed, so before any chemical service confirm HDLPE vs. XLPE for your exact application — that distinction changes stress-crack and chemical-life behavior. The ratings below come from the Snyder Industries OEM chemical resistance chart as a comparable-resin reference; confirm them against Enduraplas paper for this vessel before you commit. Every rating is concentration- and temperature-specific, so verify your exact chemical, concentration, temperature, and your fitting and gasket materials first.

Chemicals this tank's 1.9 SG rating supports, with recommended fitting and gasket materials, include Ethylene Glycol (100%, PVC, EPDM), Ferric Chloride (50%, PVC, EPDM), Ferric Sulfate (60%, PVC, EPDM), Hydrochloric Acid (37%, PVC, Viton), Hydrofluoric Acid (48%, PP/PVC, Viton), Hydrofluosilicic Acid (26%, PP/PVC, Viton), Hydrogen Peroxide (50%, PVC, Viton), Peracetic Acid (30%, 316SS, Aflas), Phosphoric Acid (85%, PVC, Viton), Polyaluminum Chloride (PVC, EPDM), Potassium Carbonate (50%, PVC, EPDM), Potassium Hydroxide (saturated, PVC, EPDM), Propylene Glycol (PP/316SS, EPDM), Sodium Bisulfate (PVC/PP, EPDM), Sodium Bisulfite (PVC/PP, EPDM), Sodium Hypochlorite (<16.5%, PVC, Viton), Sodium Thiosulfate (40%, PVC, EPDM), Sulfuric Acid (98%, CPVC, Viton), and Zinc Orthophosphate (PP/316SS, EPDM). Lower-SG media such as Acetic Acid (60%), Aluminum Sulfate (50%), Calcium Chloride (40%), DEF (32.5%), Ferrous Sulfate (20%), Magnesium Chloride (30%), Sodium Carbonate (30%), Urea Solution (50%), and Ozonated Water (up to 10 PPM) also fall within this tank's rating. Full detail is in our Chemical Compatibility Database.

Two mistakes to avoid on this cone tank. First, the acids above require the tank's full 1.9 rating as their exact minimum — Sulfuric 98%, Hydrochloric, Hydrofluoric, Hydrogen Peroxide, Ferric, and Phosphoric leave no derating headroom, so for hotter or higher-density service call us before ordering. Second, the outlet ships as a PP bulkhead and most listed media default to EPDM, but Hydrochloric, Hydrofluoric, Hydrogen Peroxide, Sulfuric, and Sodium Hypochlorite call for Viton (Aflas on Peracetic), and several need PVC, CPVC, or 316SS wetted hardware. Match the fitting and gasket to your media — call 866-418-1777 to spec a Viton bulkhead and the right valve for acid service.
