The Norwesco N-42010 is a 5,000-gallon vertical liquid storage tank in white FDA-approved polyethylene, standing 152" tall on a 102"-diameter footprint. It carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating, which makes it a workhorse for bulk water, process water, and fire-water reservoir duty where you need real capacity in a fixed floor space. This unit ships without a fitting, so you specify and install the bulkhead and outlet your application calls for. Search shoppers know this one as a 5000 gallon vertical tank or simply "Norwesco 5000 gallon" - this is that tank, sold with manufacturer-authoritative specs.
Will it work for your site
Empty, the tank weighs 1,135 lb; filled with water it carries roughly 41,700 lb of contents. Because the shell is validated to 1.9 specific gravity, its maximum rated contents run to about 79,230 lb - so size your pad for the worst case, not just water. Loaded to that rating, 79,230 lb bearing on a 102"-diameter (8.5 ft) base works out to roughly 1,400 lb per square foot, so plan a compacted, level pad rated for that load plus a margin. Maximum service temperature is 120 F / 48 C, and the tank includes a 16" lid for access and venting. Check the technical drawing on this page for the vertical dimensions and lid placement, and use our Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide to confirm this footprint fits your containment area. Note this SKU is the 102"-diameter x 152"-tall footprint; if you are comparing alternate 5,000-gallon builds in different diameters, our buyer's guides cover those separately.

The mistake to avoid
The most common error on a large vertical is treating the 1.9 SG rating and the 120 F temperature ceiling as independent. They are not: elevated temperature reduces a poly tank's allowable specific gravity, so a hot fluid running near 120 F should not also be pushed toward the 1.9 SG limit - back off the density as your service temperature climbs. Verify your fluid's actual specific gravity against the 1.9 rating before you fill; water is 1.0, but many fertilizers, brines, and process chemicals run well above that. And because this unit ships without a fitting, the gasket - not the tank body - is usually the compatibility weak link: the FDA-approved poly shell is chemically broad, but you must supply a bulkhead fitting sized to the tank wall and match the gasket elastomer to your stored fluid. Size the fitting to the wall, match the gasket to the chemistry, and derate SG for temperature, and this tank will run for years.
