5000 Gallon Vertical Liquid Storage Tank

Where a wide, low five thousand earns its place

Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall, with a siphon tube inside the tank. The siphon tube lets a side outlet draw the tank down close to the floor instead of leaving the last few inches below the fitting. Your 3 inch valve threads straight in; support the valve and the first run of pipe so the wall carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. It is the fill point, the vent and the way in for cleaning, and on a tank only 86 inches tall it is a short step ladder away.
3. Drawing. Norwesco's drawing for this tank, linked under Technical Drawing on this page, shows the outlet height, the manway position and the overall envelope for your pad and pipe layout.
4. Liquid. The 1.5 specific gravity rating covers water and most liquid fertilizers. Anything heavier, or a liquid that attacks polyethylene, needs a different tank; tell us what is going in and we will say which one.

The tank ships as oversize freight (Norwesco's freight class is OVS) from Norwesco's Hanford, California plant, 141 by 141 by 86 inches and 855 lb on the truck. It travels on an open trailer, so plan on a forklift or a crew with straps and a clear path to the pad.
