A tank of this size on a 2 inch outlet drains slowly; on 3 inch it feeds a pump suction, a fire hose connection or a gravity fill line at a useful rate. Openings, fittings and the pad

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the wall. A 3 inch valve, camlock or pump suction threads straight in. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own; a tank wall should carry liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top for the fill hose, a float and cleaning. Leave the vent open.
3. The pad. Continuous, level contact across the whole 102 inch circle: a poured slab, a steel deck plate, or a compacted and screeded bed with a retained edge, checked with an instrument across the full span. No rails, no pallet, no shim.
4. The liquid. Up to 1.5 specific gravity and 120 F. Polyethylene suits water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals; check anything else with us before you order.

An eleven foot shell needs an approach, a gate and a set-down spot the truck can use, and standing it up takes equipment or several people; plan that before delivery day. At the tailgate, check the part number 41403 on the bill of lading, look over the shell for transit damage before the driver leaves, stand it with the outlet toward the pipe run, and fill it with water the first time.
