Why a total drain

A flat bottom open tank holds back the last inch or two of every batch and whatever has settled in it, and in a process where yesterday's batch must not contaminate today's, that residue is the problem. The dish on this tank slopes to the drain so the tank empties and rinses clean between runs. That makes it the open tank for chemical make-down, brine and syrup batching, dye and treatment baths, food and beverage batching, and rinse stations in finishing lines. The 42 inch footprint fits through a double door and against a wall, and the 67 inch height keeps 330 gallons in a tank you can still reach into from a step platform; plan the platform before you order, because a full tank this tall is not one you reach from a stool. Polyethylene handles water, brine, most fertilizers and many common chemicals; nothing heavier than 1.9 times water and nothing warmer than 120 F in this tank. An open tank evaporates and collects dust and rain, so if the liquid needs to stay clean or contained, look at the covered and closed tanks we stock instead.

What to check before you buy

1. The top. Fully open at 42 inches, with no lid installed. If you want a loose cover to keep debris out, tell us when you order.
2. The drain. Snyder's data for this part number does not list the drain fitting, so tell us the size and valve you want and we will confirm what the tank comes with before it ships.
