- The height. With the tank in it, the outlet sits about 21 inches up. That decides what fits underneath: a valve and a hose, a bucket, a small pump inlet. A full drum does not. Measure that equipment before the order, not after.
- The floor. A flat, level, continuous 30 inch square with no drain, joint or slope under it. A stand on a floor that falls toward a drain sits on three feet instead of four.

Setting it up
Put the stand in its final position first and check it with a level across both diagonals. Set the empty tank in it and turn the tank so the outlet points where the pipe will run. Fit the outlet valve before the first fill, and fill with water the first time so any problem shows up with something harmless in the tank. Even a small tank is heavy when full; keep the stand on a surface that will take the load and keep it out of traffic.
