The Norwesco 1050 gallon 20 degree cone bottom tank with poly stand, part number 40359, is the tank and a polyethylene stand bought together. Assembled, it is 73 inches across and 86 inches tall and weighs 354 lb. The tank is natural white polyethylene with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. It is rated for liquids up to 1.5 specific gravity, 12.52 lb per gallon. Norwesco states the resin is FDA compliant, the service limit is 120 F, and the warranty is 3 years. The stand is made for this cone angle and this diameter, so there is nothing to design: set it, level it, drop the tank in and plumb the outlet.

Why buy the stand with the tank
A cone bottom tank has no flat floor. Something has to cradle the cone at its own angle and lift the outlet high enough to get a valve, a hose or a drum underneath, and it has to carry the full weight of tank and contents at the feet. Buying the assembly means that structure is Norwesco's, matched to this tank, and it arrives on the same pallet; the alternative is a fabricated frame with its own drawings, lead time and inspection. A 20 degree cone drains a free flowing liquid completely and is slower on thick or solids heavy loads, which makes this the tank for fertilizer blending, brine and treatment chemical make-up where the tank should be empty between uses.
What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer, brine and the common chemicals polyethylene handles, up to 1.5 times the weight of water and under 120 F. Anything heavier needs a heavy duty tank, not this one. What to check before you buy
- The height. 86 inches assembled. Measure the ceiling, the door and the route in; a tank on a stand does not tip to get through a doorway the way a bare tank does.
- The floor. A flat, level, continuous 73 inch circle under the stand, with no drain, joint or slope. Level it across both diagonals before the tank goes in.
- Clearance under the outlet. The 2 inch bulkhead fitting sits at the point of the cone inside the stand. Measure the valve, pump inlet or drum you want under it before you order; Norwesco's drawing, linked under Technical Drawing on this page, gives the outlet height.
- The valve. Fit it before the tank is seated and support the first length of pipe on its own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- The manway. 16 inches, threaded and vented: fill, float, mixer bracket, and a hand and a brush for cleaning.
- Anchoring. No anchor hardware comes with the stand; if your site needs it bolted down, that is yours to supply.
