Where it goes
At 58 inches tall assembled, this is the cone bottom tank for a barn, a shop or a plant room with a low ceiling, a mezzanine, or a spot under ductwork where a tall cone will not go. The shallow cone drains a free flowing liquid completely; it is slower on thick or solids heavy loads than a steep cone. What to check before you buy
- The footprint and the floor. 73 inches across. The stand needs a flat, level, continuous surface under it with no drain or joint; a stand on a floor that falls toward a drain rocks on a full tank.
- Clearance under the outlet. The outlet sits at the point of the cone inside the stand. Measure the valve, pump inlet or drum you want under it before the order, not after. Norwesco's drawing, linked under Technical Drawing on this page, gives the outlet height.
- The outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting. Fit the valve before the tank goes into the stand.
- The manway. 16 inches, vented, wide enough to fill, to fit a float, and to get a hand and a brush inside.
- Anchoring. No anchor hardware comes with the stand. If your site needs it bolted down, that hardware is yours.
