What comes with it, and what to check
- Tees and gaskets. A 4 inch gasketed PVC tee assembly at the inlet and at the outlet, with the gaskets, for 4 inch drain pipe. The inlet tee turns the incoming flow down below the scum layer; the outlet tee draws from the clear zone. Keep the gaskets clean and dry until the plumber arrives.
- Manway. A 20 inch gasketed manway with its cover. Gasketed lids keep groundwater out and septic gas in. If the lids will finish below grade, ask us for the risers that bring them to grade; tell us the burial depth and we will put them on the same order.
- The hole. 135 inches long and 55 inches wide, plus room around it for bedding and compaction. The 70 inch height plus the cover your code requires sets the depth, and that depth has to work with the elevation of the sewer line leaving the house.
- Groundwater. An empty polyethylene tank in wet ground floats. Follow Norwesco's installation instructions on bedding, backfill and filling, and never leave the tank pumped empty when the water table is high.
