The Bushman 300 Gallon Aquaponic Grow Bed in Blue, part number 30792, is a heavy duty, open top polyethylene tray 54 inches wide, 86 inches long and 18 inches deep. It is made to hold grow media and water above a fish tank in an aquaponic system, and it also serves as a shallow open tank for livestock watering, plant propagation or parts washing.
Will it work for your system?
Filled with water the bed weighs about 2,502 pounds, and wet gravel or expanded clay adds more, so build the stand or frame for the full loaded weight with support under the whole floor, not just the rim. Keep the bed level so water spreads evenly across the media.
Fittings
The bed comes as an open tray with no lid and no fittings, so you choose where to put the drain, bell siphon or standpipe for your system. Drill and fit it with a bulkhead sized for your flow; call 866-418-1777 if you need help picking one.
