That is serious material for a light-duty potable tank, and it is there because 45 gallons of water is roughly 375 lb (8.34 lb per gallon) grinding on the mounts every mile.
The resin is the fresh-line standard: natural FDA-compliant polyethylene, translucent enough to read the water level through the wall. No waste-tank material, no dye - potable duty from the resin up.
